New curator January Geipel shakes up the biannual Swiss event
Taking place in November, Designers' Saturday transforms Langenthal into the "design Mecca of Switzerland".
Under the new curator January Geipel, new areas and formats have been added to the festival programme. For the first time, the event will host a guest country, which this year will be Japan. Here, visitors will be able to discover Japanese designers, architects and makers including Naoki Terada, Terada Mokei and Ishinomaki Laboratory.
DS Young Talents will display the works of students from international design universities, while Friday will see 6 leading international designers and architects in conversation with Jan D. Geipeles at the DS Talk.
Exhibitor presentations will be open until late on Saturday night at the DS Night, which will also include a dinner, party and award ceremony for the art and design community.
