imm Cologne 2019

Next year's festival will see Studio Truly Truly create their vision for future living at the Das Haus installation

From January 14, 2019 until January 20, 2019
imm Cologne is set to return next year, taking place from 14 to 20 January 2019.
Across the different sections of next year's festival, there will be more than 1,450 exhibitors from 55 countries, including some of the world's biggest design brands that will be launching new products and furniture.
This year's fair is split into the following sections: Pure Atmosphere, Pure Editions, Pure Platforms, Pure Talents, Prime, Comfort, Sleep, Smart, Global Lifestyles, Pure Architects, Living Kitchen and Das Haus
This year's Das Haus will be created by Kate and Joel Booy of Studio Truly Truly, who base their studio in Rotterdam.
Das Haus has become one of the main draws of the event and sees an architect or designer create their idealistic vision for living in a simulated house – making their own personal statement on the contemporary home.

“We’re delighted to blaze a trail for inquisitive design with our version of ‘Das Haus’. We see the project as an opportunity to question some of the typical ways our living environments operate and to work up alternatives. The space that we’re developing for 'Das Haus' will be unfamiliar yet inviting at the same time – in a balance between abstraction and warmth," – Kate and Joel of Truly Truly.
As with many furniture fairs, another popular area is dedicated to upcoming designers and recent graduates. The Pure Talents Contest is known as one of the most prestigious international design competitions for young designers. Its aim is to promote junior designers in the furnishing industry, and it is open only to designers or teams of designers who are still at university or who have graduated in the last three years. Designers can take part in the competition and the special exhibition at no cost.

A new event named Future Kitchen will present visionary concepts and smart solutions for the future themes of the culinary industry. Within this programme are three themes: Future Technology, Future Design and Future Food Styles. For Future Design, designer Alfredo Häberli will present his vision of the kitchen of the future.
