Art Bollart

World Expo 2010
Tuesday 4 May 2010

Shangahi, China - and Antwerp, Belgium

Mooring posts, bollards, whatever your urban language the presence or absence of this object makes a perceptible impact on the cityscape. Bollart, a project initiated by Belgian sculptor and designer Patrick Villas reinterprets the pleasure of sitting on the dock of the bay, with a direct trace from its Antwerp roots. For the Belgian EU Pavilion at World Expo in Shanghai, Nedda El-Asmar, Dr Hugo Heyrman, Marc Pairon, Piet Stockmans, Christine Conix and Villas himself have all produced special edition Art Bollarts and if your gold stocks are running low, see the Bollarts at the De Winkelhaak design centre in Antwerp from the 7 - 27 May. Post-Expo, the Bollart installation will be part of the permanent collection of the brand new Museum of Belgium and the European Union in China.
