‘Long overdue.’ That was the way Kvadrat MD, Anders Byriel, described the company’s first Copenhagen flagship showroom, which opened in the middle of May and was designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. For the contemporary textile brand it represents the latest addition of such spaces in London, Milan and Stockholm. The French brothers, who were also responsible for the Swedish project and have a close relationship with Kvadrat, were struck by the possibilities of the concrete building by the sea. The Copenhagen showroom also features a motorised version of the Bouroullecs’ award-winning textile concept Clouds, which was developed for the company, and here opens and closes with a touch of a switch.
