Ferréol Babin might prefer relative geographic isolation as the home for his life and creativity, but there is nothing disconnected about the results. Label-hopping between one-off sculptural pieces and work for a number of design brands, the twin tracks of his work often collide in ways that puzzle, then surprise, yet somehow make perfect sense. Whatever the project, Babin describes an ‘awareness of function and rationality, combined with a poetic and emotional dimension’.
