Manifesto / Holy Crap
Super Local wants to reincarnate waste
It started at Design Academy Eindhoven, where studying product design brought him little satisfaction. “I realised that 90% of the world’s population can’t afford any of those ingenious items, although they could certainly improve their lives with well- designed products and insightful solutions. So I started to create problems in my projects in order to make the process more challenging for myself.” And thus, Pim van Baarsen specialised in problem solving. Together with fellow designer Luc van Hoeckel, he set up Super Local, a studio that finds local solutions worldwide, one of which is the Holy Crap project in Nepal, which – familiar to these problem solvers – ran into some trouble on its way to realisation.View All / Previous Manifesto
