Helle Mardhal creates candy-coloured glass lamps
The pastel-toned pendants are designed to recall memories of old sweetshops
Danish designer Helle Mardahl drew upon her fond memories of visiting sweetshops as a child when creating this range of playful lamps.
Launched during this year's 3daysofdesign festival at the NOMAD coworking space, the Candy Collection comprises hand-blown lighting fixtures in an array of soft colours.
Because of their handmade production, each takes on an organic blob-like form with soft, curving edges.
"It has always been a dream of mine to create my own sweetshop, an exclusive and sophisticated one," said the designer. "My Candy Collection is filled with possibilities engaging all senses. I wish for a sight to behold and cherish, where every piece is unique and one-off".
The designs were chosen as part of an exhibition at the city's NOMAD workspace, where interior designer Natalia Sanchez had curated a range of designers and artists to embellish each room.
The space was open to the public during this year's 3daysofdesign which took place in May, and was one of DAMNº's highlights from the festival. Read our full report here >
