New collection Cover, at Mutina Unveils
Last September, Mutina presented Mutina Unveils, an event during which five new collections designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Raw Edges and Patricia Urquiola were presented. With Mutina Unveils, the company officially joins the big slab's world: Cover, the new collection by Urquiola, plays with materiality and geometries, while two great successes, the Déchirer by Urquiola, and Folded by Raw Edges, are to be re-proposed in XL size. In the words of the CEO, Massimo Orsini: ‘Mutina Unveils is the most mature event in Mutina’s history, with which the circle that brings perfect integration between our two souls closes, and design blends together with art.
Mutina enters the world of contemporary art through an ambitious and multifaceted project called Mutina for Art, which includes MUT, a dedicated exhibition space within its headquarters; This is Not a Prize, an important prize awarded annually; and finally Dialogue, a programme of collaborations with artists, galleries and partners as well as international artistic institutions.’
DAMN°66 Materials presents products that are the new generation of products. Says Productivity editor Patrizia Coggiola about the Suprematist trend:
"Monumental patterns and proportions that recall those historical avant-garde researches for the pure form, where the perfected polished geometries were applied on huge scales. A vivid visual power, creating paintings or sculpture-like elements that one could enter and live in."
