Cocksedge`s record - breaking design

London designer Paul Cocksedge has put a new spin on the function of the vinyl record. Pairing modern technology with nostalgia, he uses an LP to create a substitute speaker for today’s high-tech musical gadgets, as if to imbue the new with memories of the old. One’s MP3 is duly embedded in the depth of the funnel shaped vinyl, whence the emanating sound becomes subject to the acoustical niceties of the surrounding form.
