The obscure ways of Rosemarie Trockel
The contrariness of Rosemarie Trockel is intrinsic to her artistic career; both in regard to her work and the path she has taken. And this reveals itself to a great degree in the current exhibition at the New Museum, whereby she has elected not for a retrospective but for a group show in which her work comprises about half. Positioned against a massive variety of artworks by others, her works are confronted in a curious way.
