Into the Woods
The architect who didn't build
Remembered for his proposals for San Francisco, Havana, and Sarajevo following the respective disasters that occurred there, which were subsequently included in the publication of Radical Reconstruction in 1997, Lebbeus Woods was an architect known for his politically charged and provocative visions of a possible reality. Not wishing to build buildings, he instead spent his entire career drawing visions of structures and scenarios that could serve to waken the viewer to the lessons of catastrophe. A noble legacy indeed.
