J. Mayer H. and Partner Architects announce new tram station with café in Freiburg, Germany.

March 2016
A new tram stop with a café will be built on Friedrichring at the edge of Freiburg's historical district. The roof's shape forms a contrast to other structures in the square, creating an attractive space for users of the city's local transport and other visitors to the city center. Upon historical triangular ground the curved roof shape emerges from a circular pattern. The stop's construction enhances the inner-city square, adding new appeal for Freiburg residents and visitors alike. The combined effect of the nearby Siegesdenkmal ("victory monument"), the tram stop with pavilion and surrounding buildings will create a strong impression, offering a powerful entry to Freiburg's historic district. Completion is scheduled for approximately end 2018.
