50-years Alvar Aalto Museum & Jyväskylä Art Museum
Retrospective Simo & Jussi Heikkilä at the Alvar Aalto Museum + Jyväskylä Art Museum, Helsinki, Finland, 3 June until 18 September 2016.
Alvar Aalto Museum and it’s stepchild Jyväskylä Art Museum are celebrating their 50-years existence by showing a retrospective of two local brothers - the designer Simo Heikkilä and the conceptual artist Jussi Heikkilä. The exhibition will stand until the next 8th International Alvar Aalto Design Seminar, MAXIMAL I MINIMAL, which will be held on 27–28 August, 2016, in Jyväskylä, Finland and which Simo Heikkilä is leading. A book about his work is also in the making. His brother Jussi Heikkilä is a leading figure in Finnish conceptual art, who is using the bird life as a bio-indicator of the world’s climate situation.
