Winner of the 5th Edition of 'Martelinhos de S.João 2016' competition; category 'Public space intervention'.

June 2016

GiRA is a temporary installation by Miguel Costa and Meireles de Pinho (micro atelier de arquitectura e arte) that aims to create a new staging space in the city as well as an urban landmark on the occasion of the traditional São João festivities. The design is created with the traditional plastic São João hammers people use during this annual event in Porto, and reinforces the symbolic meaning of it.
