Danish architect Bjarke Ingels will design the new San Pellegrino flagship factory in northern Italy. The construction will accommodate the existing bottling plant and the original offices (º1899), as well as a new public part where visitors can explore how bottled water is produced. Besides BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group), also MVRDV, Snøhetta and Michele De Lucchi took part in the architectural competition. The jury praised the innovative solutions of the four agencies, but ultimately chose the design of BIG. The construction works will start in 2018.
