Sebnem Soher, originally from Istanbul, is currently working as a visiting scholar in Lisbon while pursuing her PhD in Architectural Design in Turkey. Her interest in architecture focuses on informality, participatory space-making processes, and small-scale interventions. In the past she has contributed to various art & design initiatives and to architecture journals; she also writes reviews, co-edits books, and organises international workshops. Some of her research projects were published for the 4th Rotterdam Architecture Biennale and 14th Venice International Architecture Biennale. Additionally, Soher has recently produced academic publications that concentrate on Istanbul’s history of urbanisation.
