Berlin Art Week is a highlight of contemporary art in the capital and has been held since 2012, always in September. For the Art Week, the great contemporary art museums, Berlin exhibition and art associations, two art fairs, private collections of contemporary art and project spaces have come together to present a joint exhibition program.
For just over a week, the entire city is opening its door to art-loving visitors from all over the world: through openings, award ceremonies, talks and special events, art tours, both through the city and exhibition venues, with urban interventions, open studios and galleries. These days, Berlin is experienced as a place for contemporary art, in which German and international artists live and work, where art is created, topics are set and the future is negotiated.
