Brussels Gallery Weekend 2019
Highlighting diversity in the local art scene
Brussels Gallery Weekend has put together an abundant and diversified program to highlight the openings of the participating galleries. This year, the openings are joined by an OFF Program, including an exhibition entitled Fried patterns and other activities, all showcasing the city and the artistic diversity it unravels throughout the weekend.
From 5–8 September, the 12th edition of Brussels Gallery Weekend will highlight the diversity of the local art scene. With 40 participating galleries and 17 institutions as well as numerous artist-run spaces and exhibitions, visitors will have the opportunity to discover both emerging artists and acclaimed names. Throughout this weekend, the galleries reveal their investment in the city together with their concern for newcomers and ideas. Sybille du Roy, director of the Brussels Gallery Weekend adds: "Despite its notability and established reputation, Brussels, through its art scene and galleries, is keen on innovation and considers the city to be at the heart of such initiatives." As part of these new ambitious projects, shared-space gallery, La Maison de Rendez-vous and nomadic gallery Ballon Rouge Collective, recently opened.
