DOWNTOWN DESIGN 2020
This year, the Middle East’s leading design fair will present a hybrid programme across virtual and onsite activations
A focal point for the Middle East’s design industry, every year, in November, Downtown Design brings the regional and international design community together in Dubai during Dubai Design Week.
In light of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Downtown Design’s new format for 2020 will engage the industry across digital and physical platforms, offering both design professionals as well as enthusiasts inspiration and insight to navigate the new design landscape.
Featuring a digital fair, a conceptual exhibition, a virtual talks programme and tailor-made physical brand experiences within Dubai Design District (d3), the hybrid format will be presented across the entire duration of Dubai Design Week, 9 - 14 November 2020.
Presenting the latest collections from leading international and regional design brands, Downtown Design’s digital fair will offer an opportunity to reconnect with the thriving contemporary design scene. The Digital Fair will launch 9 November 2020 and will be complemented with a virtual talks programme featuring regional and international experts who will offer insights into our evolving value structure as a positive response to the pandemic.
Spotlighting progressive design thinking from the Middle East and featuring a diverse group of the region’s architects and interior designers, Downtown Design’s multi-media exhibition. ‘The Shape of Things to Come’ will explore how we will live, work and play in the future. The exhibition will take place 9-14 November 2020 in Building 4, Dubai Design District (d3).
Also at d3, country-specific and multi-brand conceptual presentations from Portugal and the UK will showcase the flair, refinement and innovation of their contemporary design scene to a wider audience.
