Enfant Terrible. The New Polish Poster

Queer Festival Poster by Malgorzata Gurowska

Until 13 October in Bozar, Brussels.
Polish poster art is probably the most recognised and valued part of the Polish art scene in Western Europe. It was one of the few sectors of Polish cultural life, in addition to film, which in the 1960s and 70s managed to slip through the Iron Curtain and conquer a place in Western consciousness.  The works exhibited here vary in style and make good use of both the proven classic design and contemporary graphic trends. The makers use vector illustration, graphic workshop methods, photography, and painting techniques in an interesting way. A common feature of the works on display is freedom of expression, a bold and intelligent approach to the subject, and the search for modern and original graphic solutions.
