Gloria: Robert Rauschenberg & Rachel Harrison

Until October 25, 2015

Exhibition, Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, USA, until 25 October
Taking its name from Gloria (1956), an iconic work by Robert Rauschenberg, the exhibition explores the artist’s interests and actions in the 1950s through a younger set of eyes, those of internationally acclaimed artist Rachel Harrison, who is known for her original approach to art-making that simultaneously addresses and analyses the conventions of art and mass culture. An amalgam of artistic innovation, pop culture trivia, wry humour, and sharp critique, the exhibition juxtaposes these two unconventional thinkers, featuring works and photographs by Rauschenberg alongside a group of pivotal sculptures and drawings by Harrison.
