Hans Richter - Encounters
Exhibition, Martin-Gropius-Bau Berlin, Germany, 27 March – 30 June.
Hans Richter was a painter, filmmaker, and writer. But above all, he was an artist who had a great influence on society – a trendsetter. His artistic range extended from Expressionism through Dadaism, Constructivism, and Surrealism to completely new forms of film art. He made an important and unique contribution to Modernism. This exhibition presents 150 works by Richter and some 50 works by his internationally esteemed colleagues, thus reflecting the amount of ground covered by these various artistic personalities.
