Exhibition, Marta Herford, Germany, until 16 August
Lines mark the boundaries between inside and out. Ideas demand forms that seek and find their respective expression in drawings. Marta Herford presents a selection of such exquisite idea lines, graphic traces, and spatial formations from, among others, three acclaimed collections in Berlin. The spectrum of the expertly compiled assembly of sketches and drawings ranges from Bruno Taut to Hans Scharoun to Frank Gehry. This poetic journey through the history of ideas and construction of the 20th and 21st centuries is complemented by selected works by contemporary artists. A stimulating microcosm of spatial structures thereby unfolds, which illustratively combines the energy of germinating ideas with the visions of new construction forms.
