Matter of Life: Growing Bio Art & Design
Exhibition, MU, Eindhoven, Netherlands, until 22 February
Pigeons, human stem cells, fungi, cut flowers – almost any living thing can serve as working material for bio art and design. Presented here are nine much-discussed research projects that are situated somewhere between the life sciences, art, and design. The projects being shown vary from an aimlessly floating fatberg to an intense confrontation with a cancerous growth. What connects these works is a sense of urgency. Each project invokes penetrating questions about who we are as humans, as living beings, and where the developments in the life sciences are leading us.
