The transdisciplinary festival NEU NOW is devoted to presenting the work of exceptional emerging artists.
For the ninth edition, NEU NOW – an initiative by ELIA - The European League of Institutes of the Arts – returns to present the work of the best of graduating artists from across Europe and beyond. NEU NOW 2017 will welcome 46 artists from 16 countries representing 28 unique artworks.
Over the past eight years, NEU NOW established a transdisciplinary art festival that features a carefully curated selection of emerging artists entering international art arenas. This year’s rising stars include Yoanna Blikman and Dan Robert Lahiani (FR/IL) whose work Kung Fu received international praise, documentary filmmaker Sebastian Mulder (NL) who was featured recently on Dutch public broadcasting (NPO) and Roma Auskalnyte (FI) whose artwork is on show at the Finnish National Gallery Kiasma.
NEU NOW gallery will be presenting an exciting array of artworks including photography, installations and performative pieces that will be activated in intervals throughout opening hours. Complementing the core programme, the festival invites visitors to delve deeper into their understanding of the presented artworks and artistic practices by getting involved in engaging rounds of Boardroom Sessions with Patty Morgan. On Saturday afternoon, the Patty Morgan crew will highlight one artwork at a time in a short and loose format with the help of visitors. Everyone is welcome, knowledge of art not required.
