Olafur Eliasson and David Adjaye - Your black horizon Art Pavilion

Exhibition, Lopud Island, Croatia.

Until October 2, 2016
This interdisciplinary project by artist Olafur Eliasson and architect David Adjaye sees the fields of art and architecture merge into an ‘interlocking equation’ wherein ephemeral visual appearance and architectural formulations exist simultaneously. The distinctive location, nestled in a sloping terrain of cypress trees, cacti, and olive groves, has invited a site-specific interaction between the installation and the Mediterranean landscape it inhabits. Embedded in Lopud’s rich Renaissance heritage and preserved nature, it reveals new interpretations of the landscape. The pavilion seeks new modes of artistic and architectural engagement with the given locality, embracing an interaction with nature and the local communities, and engaging a wider appreciation of the role of art in unexpected sites and circumstances..
