Exhibition, Design museum Gent, Ghent, Belgium.

The link between textiles and art has become stronger than ever. It has now been 10 years since the introduction of the textile design programme at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK), and the exhibition illustrates the position of textiles in design, art, fashion, and architecture.
The project explores the boundaries of art and design, and presents work that transcends these boundaries. Design and art are juxtaposed. Additionally, the works are – literally and figuratively – taken off their pedestals. The scenography brings surprising visual assemblies, with pieces by international artists placed alongside those of students. Shown are works that span art and design, where the design, the production process, and the final result coincide.
