The MAK Asia Collection is one of the most comprehensive and important European collections of art and applied arts from the Asiatic region. Now it is being presented in an exhibition gallery conceived in a fundamentally new way. Selected artefacts from the collection are embedded in an artistic installation created specifically for the venue by the renowned Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata, yielding a profound insight into the art and cultures of East Asia.
