Station to Station : A 30 Day Happening
Art event, Barbican Centre, London, UK, until 26 July
On show this summer is Doug Aitken’s ‘living exhibition’, with more than 100 free multi arts events taking place over 30 days, bringing artists from the worlds of visual art, music, dance, and design together. No two days are the same. There are free daytime events such as resident musician Martin Creed, EMA, and LoneLady recording live music performances, resident artist Tal R’s Rosa Pagoda woodblock studio creating original prints in front of your eyes, resident dance groups such as Siobhan Davies Dance, Ann Van der Broek, and New Movement Collective constantly developing new pieces. Outdoors, visitors can explore the yurts on the lakeside with artists Liz Glynn, Urs Fischer, Ernesto Neto, and Kenneth Anger. And each weekend there are ticketed events in the Hall and Gallery space.
