Vincenzo de Cotiis: En Plein Air
The exhibition is based on a time period when artists left their studio to paint outdoors
En Plein Air is a solo gallery exhibition of works by Italian Architect and Designer Vincenzo de Cotiis.
On show at London's Carpenters Workshop Gallery until November, the exhibition relates to a period in art history when artists, at the end of the 19th century, left their studio to paint outdoors.
The collection refers to both painting history and nature, and each piece combines semi-precious stones with Murano glass, recycled resin and cast brass.
'The chromaticism of the materials are drawn from Pointillism; Pre-Cubist geometrics and organic expressionist schemes, alternate in perpetual rhythm, de-structuring the classical canons, forging them into the contemporary world,' – Carpenters Workshop Gallery.
Vincenzo De Cotiis was born in 1958 in Gonzaga, Italy. He studied architecture at the Milan Politecnico and founded his studio and gallery in 1997.
En Plein Air will be on show at Carpenters Workshop Gallery from 15th September to 23rd November 2018.
