Exhibition, Foam, Amsterdam,Netherlands, until 13 March 2014.
The entire museum is dedicated to the life and work of this legendary photographer, filmmaker and designer, whose career spans more than 60 years. Klein’s work had an immense influence on photography during the second half of the 20th century, and this exhibition amply covers his ground-breaking work in New York in the 1950s while also displaying work he made in Rome, Moscow, and Tokyo. His projects for Vogue demonstrate that Klein was a great innovator in fashion photography. In addition to his early experiments with abstract photography, the large-scale, painted-on contact prints he has created in more recent years is also be on view here.
