19th Biennale of Sydney, Australia, 21 March – 09 June.
You Imagine What You Desire, a poignant theme, is underpinned by a schedule of talks, tours and film screenings, major events, performances and forums. In addition, the public programme also features numerous visiting curators and academics. Divided into the Opening Weeks, Middle programme, and End programme, the featured activities, presentations, and exhibitions are packed into a comprehensively organised, intriguing array. This lasts all the way through to the very end: the finish of the biennale comprises of an epic orchestral piece on a pier in the Walsh Bay, bringing together cinema and sound in a powerful work of life, death, tragedy and comedy - a climactic conclusion indeed.
