Elaine Cecconi and Anna Simone
Interior designers for Cosentino
Spanish group Cosentino has presented its bathroom collection with Dekton and Silestone at Eurocucine 2016. Innovative surfaces for the architecture and design world have this year been applied exclusively to bathroom design. A multidisciplinary interior design practice based in Toronto, Cecconi Simone designed the stand for the brand, representing the different identities of each material.
“The stand design was divided into four spaces or vignettes”: a Parisian apartment, a Balinese garden, a London loft, and a typical Toronto house, showing the different applications of Dekton’s ultra-compact surfaces and Silestone’s quartz surfaces. “These spaces show that Cosentino products can create magnificent spaces whether they are urban or rural, indoor or outdoor, thus emphasising the products’ versatility and adaptability to different styles, be they elegant, refined, luxurious, avant-garde, or minimalist.”
In each of these contexts, the Cosentino bathroom collection consists of large-format custom-made concepts. “Silestone and Dekton, thanks to their physical and mechanical performance, can be used to make a whole bathroom out of the same material, giving each space great aesthetic integration and continuity. The large sizes in which Silestone and Dekton slabs can be made reduces the number of joints necessary, making for a cleaner, more hygienic room.”
At the Cosentino stand, two impressive Dekton washbasins with the Red Dot Award for Best Product Design 2016 were shown in colours from the new line of high-tech polished surfaces in Dekton XGloss, characterised by a peculiar shine. The Cosentino bathroom collection is available in the full Silestone range of colours, including the sustainable, environmentally- friendly Silestone® Eco line, while only the Dekton washbasins are currently available in the 30-plus colours that make up the Dekton® colour range.
