Eva Harlou designs Winston Daybed for Mater
The design is named after British politician Winston Churchill
During this year's 3daysofdesign festival, Copenhagen brand Mater took journalists around their showroom, which was once a car repair shop.
Inside, director Henrik Marstrand – who founded the company in 2006, showed us around the space while giving insights into the brand's sustainable values and products.
A highlight of these products was the Winston Daybed, designed by Eva Harlou. The bed is made from an FSC-certified oak frame, with a canework structure made in a Danish wicker workshop.
"Named after Winston Churchill, the Winston Daybed is a beautiful piece of furniture that works as an extra seating in living rooms, open halls, in an office area or simply an elegant place to take a nap. With its simple and elegant construction in wood and wicker, Winston is a new take on a classic daybed," said the brand.
"It is a new interpretation of the classic canework craft whose characteristics is a sustainable choice of material, as the grass reproduces itself very fast after harvesting."
