Cipher by Yabu Pushelberg for Lasvit

August 2019
Every project by Lasvit is a celebration of the inherent beauty of cut crystals and their textures. This progressive Czech manufacturer of glass artworks has recently presented a new iconic lighting piece in collaboration with Yabu Pushelberg, a design firm that has curated the Four Seasons Kuwait interior design. For this project the two companies teamed up to define an extruded hexagon, whose edges were ultimately softened and smoothed to create cylindrical forms. Light emits only from connection points and the sources are ingeniously hidden to soften the overall effect. The Cipher collection, as it is called, represents Lasvit’s approach to heritage techniques and contemporary forms. A delicate hand-blown crystal cylindrical piece is cut with clean clear lines, etched with a pattern that catches the light.
